Eat Clean & Live Healthy Challenge

EAT CLEAN & LIVE HEALTHY 14 Week Challenge

This 14 week challenge is a short-term commitment that will lead you to long-term healthy eating habits. Whether this is your first step towards making a change in your eating habits or simply the next step in your health journey, you will find this class encouraging and challenging!

The program is called a Challenge for a reason. Anything worth doing will be challenging. You cannot reach the mountaintop without a bit of a struggle. There is a feeling of confidence that comes with accomplishing a tough goal that brings energy and fulfillment to your being, driving you to continue on. The perseverance and discipline it takes will make you not want to backtrack, thus having to do it all over again from the starting point. This program will take you beyond your comfort zone into a place that will become your “new normal.”

Because each person is an individual with their own unique goals and differing ways of successfully accomplishing them, this program is designed for you personally. Using some basic “clean eating” guidelines, you will be given the tools to formulate your own plan to individualize it to how you best attain goals. You’ll receive instruction, encouragement, and accountability from others on the same journey you are on.

Remember…

There are times it will be difficult…it may cost you something.

*It will be worth it!

You will make a bad decision in what you choose to eat.

*This will become the exception rather than the norm.

You may feel like giving up.

*The friendship and comradery of others will lift you up so you can persevere.

The Eat Clean & Live Healthy Challenge will run Jan. 13 through the week of April 14. Classes are scheduled for every Tuesday from 1:00-4:00 in Apple Valley at my house.

The cost is $100/person or $150/couple. A couple would be any two people living in the same household. If the cost is prohibitive for anyone, just let me know and we will work something out.

I have been asked about homeschooled children coming. This would make an exceptional health class for them! If I only have a few, I will keep them in this class. If I have more than that, I can make a specific class just for them, with information geared toward their specific needs as they are growing. The cost for any young person is $50. I would ask that they be at least 12 years old, and able to sit through and focus on this class with the adults. If I created a class for youth, I would tailor it totally to their age.

Each week we will…

* cook at least one ‘clean’ recipe for everyone to try

* learn how to create meal plans and grocery lists

* advise you on how to make your existing recipes fit the clean eating guidelines

* receive information and instruction on different aspects of the Clean Eating Lifestyle

* learn about nutrients and natural foods; how they affect our health and disease

* share recipes, meal plans and exercise routines

* discuss personal victories/struggles to encourage and hold each other accountable

* work out a personalized exercise program tailored to your abilities

Disclaimer: Please remember I am not a doctor or a certified dietician. My guidelines and recipes are geared toward generally healthy individuals with no serious chronic illnesses. If you are under Dr. care for a serious health issue like diabetes, heart disease, cancer, etc. you are welcome to take this class, but you need to check with your Dr. about anything drastically different from your current protocol. Obviously, eating more vegetables and less processed food is a no brainer for everyone. But a lot of fruit, honey, and maple syrup will be no-no’s for a diabetic. Use your own common sense, good judgment and past Drs. advice to fit your specific health issue. This program is guaranteed to make you healthier. It is not guaranteed to cure a chronic illness. (Although you will find as you eat healthier and cut out processed foods, it will, at the very least, lead to better management of your disease).

Hope to see you there!
